Brandon Bay, County Kerry
After a morning of low cloud and torrential rain, on the Dingle Peninsula, we drove over to the north coast and found this beach for the dog to have a run. A ridiculously large beach, with the tide full out. As we got out of the car the clouds began to clear and blue sky appeared. An almost spiritual experience standing there on the western edge of Europe, in the midst of 18km of sand, clouds wheeling overhead as the next Atlantic front crashed in. Mountains, cloudscapes, surf, sand patterns, reflections - what's not to like.
