Lake District
An inspiring mix of high rugged fells, and lake-filled valleys, some softened by pasture and wood, some with a wilder feel. Quintessential landscape, loved by poets and artists and a fell walkers dream. Each valley has a unique character and feel. With a camera the excitement of wandering these places, and getting up high, can be captured in spades. With nearly 16 million visitors a year it is an unlikely place to find peace and solitude, but its worth a try. Autumn has got to be the best time, when wooded valleys are dressed in gold, and fell side bracken turns to rust.
